William Sears is Senior Manager, Search Marketing at Disney Interactive Media Group.
He is responsible for organic search traffic acquisition for Disney’s Mom & Family portfolio of websites within Disney Online. William, together with his team of search marketers, works continuously to optimize the sites and inform content development planning. In addition to crafting search strategy, he works to keep the product and editorial teams well informed and empowered with actionable insights gleaned from ongoing research on evolutions in search behaviors and technologies.
Prior to this role, William was Co-Founder and Vice President at Perfect Market Technologies, an Idealab company, where he co-developed and managed a platform to help large publishers monetize their archival content through advanced SEO, SEM, analytics and monetization optimization tactics; Program Manager at Snap Technologies where he took an experimental project to arbitrage internet traffic via paid search, using tens of millions of keywords and turned into a thriving business, which was spun out to form Perfect Market; and Director of Marketing at DigiLink, a regional ISP.
William has twenty years of digital media experience, and has driven many facets of online business, including web application development, e-commerce, site design, infrastructure, content development, monetization, and traffic acquisition.
William graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Entrepreneur Program). He studied computer programming at National University and Economics at Harvard University.
