You know, I always wonder what people like you take away from making comments like that on other people's work. You added zero to the conversation yourself.

Get over it and move on.

I like this technique because it allows to involve a customer in the process of marketing. It's a clever method!

I think the execution needs to be cleaned up a bit -- right now the video is a bit clunky and could use a bit of editing to make it more seamless.

Hey Rebecca, Good points you have made here. Want a quick advise:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh-DDskonqQ" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh-DDskonqQ</a>

Do you think this video qualifies to be virally promoted? How would you approach such a video to spread it virally?

Rebecca,
One of the things that I do is to place the viral content on it's own page - away from the main site and blog and not brand the page at all. Once the traffic has died down then I put links back to the main part of the site from the viral page. That way I have separated my audience and don't have to worry about it backfiring on my brand.

These are good tips and they would most certainly help reduce the biggest limitation to engaging in a social/viral campaign - FEAR.

Sometimes the simplest bit of advice is the one we forget the most. Sorry that this particular post wasn't your cup of tea, but others found it to be helpful.

An utter waste of time reading a common sense statements that most consultants follow. If you don't know the above, then you aren't fit to be in the profession. I was expecting an enlitening article, but alas... not to be.

Nice post - I find that a lot of clients don't really "get" the benefits of viral content, even after it's explained. Kind of why I really only work with people looking for that specifically - that way they already know its value and I don't have to do any explaining.
