Some very nice tips. Even though I practice most of these I didn?t think of the chat box. You have some really nice articles and a very beautiful layout, I wish you the best of luck.

Some business owners don't necessarily forget to register all of the domain names surrounding their businesses and products. Some smart individuals snatch it before you do. And it's literally expensive to maintain all the domain name variations. Personally I was only able to register six variations.

It is nearly not enough to make a commentary. How about some examples?

It will add credibility to your post.

Hey Jake-

In addition to this, the official LensCrafters website www.lenscrafters.com, which I recently used the for a coupon on my new glasses, does not even look representative of the branded style and feel that I saw for years on commercials growing up.

In their logo and on commercials they use a red and black color scheme, as well as the clock image to remind people of the short time it will take to get glasses. However, on the website, they have use greens and whites. I actually thought I was on the wrong website, and I think these changes can be misleading to consumers who are used to the branded look they grew to know. They don't even have the "One hour" slogan posted on the site.
LensCrafters Original Logo: http://www.easterseals.com/images/content/pagebuilder/13111.gif

Also, they obviously have little regard for the web world of traffic otherwise they may buy common misspellings in the domain names, such as: www.lenscarfters.com. This misspelled domain name will lead visitors to a directory site, and the first thing they see are links to glasses websites, none of which are LensCrafters.

This blog was a very interesting read, and surely these big corporations, along with our New York Knicks, should step it up and worry about the traffic they are loosing through the web, because it is probably not just national traffic, but international and could mean big ROI.

Thanks for getting me thinking about this stuff!

Accredited Registries:

Namesbeyond.com
Dot Mobi
Moniker
NameCheap
NamePros

The above are not accredited Registries - they are accredited Registrars with the exception of Dot Mobi, who is a Registry.
