Today I turn 26 years old (cue the fanfare). My birthday always seems to fall on or around SES San Jose, which typically takes place early/mid-August. Tomorrow I’m flying to San Francisco for a short birthday weekend before driving over to San Jose on Monday for SES, and while I’m there I’d love to network with my fellow attendees and with the speakers. So, in case you need some convincing, I’ve listed 26 reasons why you should buy me (and Greg!) a drink at SES San Jose…one reason for every year of my life. :)

  1. You can say it’s a belated birthday gift
  2. Because, unlike the other R. Kelly, I won’t pee on you
  3. We can chat about social media marketing to your heart’s content
  4. I’ll spill the beans about how Chris gets his hair to look so perfectly coiffed (hint: it involves pig’s milk and 4 hours of prep time)
  5. It’ll give me an excuse to interview you for the 10e20 blog (and interviews usually come with links :D )
  6. Wait, scratch #5: It’ll give me a better excuse to make fun of you on the 10e20 blog via video, a comic, or a combination of the two
  7. There’s currently a massive mojito surplus in northern California that must be addressed
  8. You can finally congratulate me in person for my fancy, awesome new job
  9. Say it’s for Chris and Danielle in celebration of their new baby
  10. To apologize for incessantly spamming me via IM for Digg, Reddit, StumbleUpon, Mixx and Propeller votes
  11. Because you want some linkbait ideas
  12. You need to mourn with someone over the untimely death of Billy Mays
  13. Because Twitter will be broken for the 15,893rd time and you’ll need something else to do
  14. You need to vent to someone about how horrendously unwatchable Transformers 2 is
  15. You actually wanted to buy Lisa Barone a drink, but she’s not at SES and I’m a witty female, brown-haired Internet marketing blogger so you figured it was close enough
  16. You hate the new Bing advertisements as much as I do
  17. We can brainstorm a way to explain to my clueless mother what I actually do for a living
  18. You have some extra expense money and don’t know what to do with it
  19. Because there’s nothing else to do in San Jose other than go to the technology museum for the 12th time
  20. You’re bummed that I can’t accompany Barb Boser to SEO Oktoberfest
  21. You’re a fan of The Wire and need to talk to someone about how much you miss it
  22. It’s better than receiving yet another XL-sized black tech t-shirt from some random marketing company in the Expo Hall
  23. We can bond over our hatred of the term “mommy blogger”
  24. Because I’m super awesome (seriously, it’s true)
  25. You want to hire 10e20 to do your social media marketing
  26. You’ve just hired 10e20 to do your social media marketing, and we’re drinking to celebrate :D
